Fred Wants to Win

Perfect message, but just a little too late, say some South Carolinians.  I say bullshit.

If you agree with the message of the candidate, whether that candidate is Fred Thompson, Ron Paul, Rudy Giuiliani, Mitt, McCain, or even Hitlery, then you have a RESPONSIBILITY to vote that way in the primaries.  That’s what primaries are for – finding out which candidate is most in line with the beliefs and philosophies of the party’s voters.  If you think Fred’s message is perfect, then you absolutely MUST cast your primary vote that way.

Interestingly enough, Fred’s message is the one that happens to be closest to President Reagan’s (I’m bringing that up since the South Carolina debate seemed to be a contest of who could be the most Reagan-like).  Don’t you just love Rudy’s statement that he would mount a 50-state campaign to win the election just like Reagan did – made on the very same day he pulled all his staffers out of South Carolina and Michigan?  Nice 50-state campaign, you dork.  Rush often says that conservatism wins every time it’s tried, and I do believe he’s right.  Americans gravitate toward it, and its implementation is always successful.  Indeed, when a conservative president gets into trouble, it’s almost always for doing something liberal – like raise taxes.

There’s no doubt in my mind that Fred Thompson wants to win this election.  None at all.  However, his campaign staff stopped sending emails right after the Iowa caucuses.  How exactly do they expect to raise the needed funds to get anywhere?  How do they think we’re going to get the only electable conservative elected by just sitting around on their asses and doing nothing?

To the Thompson campaign, I say this:  Get off your sorry asses and get them into gear.  Fred is the last hope we have of having a conservative president take over in 2009 after 20 years of liberal bullshit in the White House.  Other than Fred, neither party offers anything but liberals.  This election should be a breeze – and the primaries should be the easy part.  Why are you idiots making such a farce out of it?

DJ Gallo Gets It Right

My opinion of the whole “Mitchell Report” and this foolishness surrounding Major League Baseball and steroid use has been simple: blah blah blah. Seriously, even I have found it necessary from time to time to use them. They are very helpful in strengthening weak body systems and making life more comfortable.

The thing about this list that is truly revealing is that the percentage of great ballplayers on this list is about the same as the percentage in the game in general. In other words, you can’t convince me that these drugs in any way changed the destinies of the players involved. In other words, Barry Bonds would have STILL become the Home Run King, and “The Rocket” would have still risen to the same level of greatness. Tim Laker would have no other legitimate claim to fame.

In all seriousness, it doesn’t, never has, and never will matter what any player or group of players does to enhance performance. As a competitor, you still have to find a way to win. For true winners, losing is not an option. Can you imagine going to war and giving up just because the other side had NBC? As much as we heard about Iraq’s NBC program, we still went in, kicked ass, and took names. NBC or none, the winners won. It’s the same in baseball. So Barry’s juiced. So fucking what? I don’t see Barry Bonds walking around with a 2007 World Series ring on his finger.

Truth be told, People have to lighten up about these things, and mind their own business. If Barry Bonds feels the need to get juiced, I say let him. It’s not like this stuff is without side-effects, and it’s not like the Giants did any better because of it. DJ Gallo hits it right on the head today. Read these quotes (which you can bet are all made up). They go right to the heart of the matter.

Poll: Thompson Wins in Stupid Debate

No. I didn’t watch the stupid debate this week. New Years is coming up, and there’s lots of preparation with a new band and all. First gig with them, in fact. Still, I found this poll Hawk did very interesting.

Who won the debate?

Tom Tancredo: 2%
Duncan Hunter: 6%
Rudy Giuliani: 7%
John McCain: 7%
Mitt Romney: 12%
Mike Huckabee: 22%
Fred Thompson: 44%

Who lost the debate?

Duncan Hunter: 1%
Tom Tancredo: 2%
John McCain: 3%
Mike Huckabee: 4%
Fred Thompson: 6%
Mitt Romney: 21%
Rudy Giuliani: 24%
Ron Paul: 40%

One thing was missing, though. When Hawk does a poll, he often analyzes the net result (in this case, subtracting the negatives from the positives). Here is how that would have panned out:

Guiliani: -14%
Romney: -9%
Tancredo: 0%
McCain: +4%
Hunter: +5%
Huckabee: +18%
Thompson: +38%

An important note on this poll is that Ron Paul was not offered as a choice for the winner. Hawk does this because he often winds up sifting through the pro-Paul vote having to weed out duplicate votes. The Ron Paul crowd simply isn’t honest when it comes to these things, unfortunately, so we will never get an accurate assessment of what people really think of Ron Paul. This is truly unfortunate, because Ron Paul brings something very important to the debate: far-right conservatism. Conservatism largely the way it ought to be. I disagree with Mr. Paul on a few key issues, but his desire to champion the Constitution is nothing short of admirable. Every candidate from every party should be thinking along those lines – another reason I’m a Thompson voter. It would be very useful to know how Americans really feel about Ron Paul because it would give us a better idea of exactly what we face from an education standpoint. Sure, he’s nutty on the war and 9/11, but to know where Americans stand on much of the rest of his platform would be truly instructive and useful in bringing America back into the Constitutional fray.

Anyway, form what I’ve heard about the debate, it was pretty stupid, and even included a Hitlery operative planting a question or two. For Fred to have won this debate is probably something very small, but perhaps the ability to handle himself effectively on the Communist News Network may make it larger. It’s definitely something that must be considered when making a decision, and it’s my sincere hope that Fred will come through in the final analysis.

Moonbat Monitor Socks it to Calderon

Moonbat Monitor has done it again.

In response to Farks wannabe Felipe Calderon’s assertions that Mexico has no borders, Moonbat Monitor hit back with this:

Dear Mr. Calderon,

I feel it is my duty to advise you of an invention from long ago that is still used to this very day. This amazing invention is called a “map.” On this “map” thing, you will in fact see that although there might be Mexicans here in the US, it is not in fact Mexico. You see, there are these line thingys on “maps” called “borders,” and when looking at these “borders,” you will notice your country ends at one point and ours begins. Therefore realizing this, I think it would be appropriate for you to amend or retract your statements in regards to your country never ending. They’re wrong. My map says so. And perhaps you can have one of the millions of your citizens that have invaded our country shoplift one of these fancy “maps” and send it to you so you can fully understand this concept.

My words for Mr. Calderon are a little simpler:

If you have a problem with the US making and enforcing our own laws, shut the fuck up and declare war already. The US could use a little more land to the south, your subjects in Mexico would wind up with all the rights of real US citizens – and without the oppressive socialism they come to America to escape, and defending a border with Belize and Guatemala would be considerably easier than this long border we have right now.

Go ahead – IF you think you can win.

Translation: Donk Debate

OK …

I’ll admit I didn’t even know the Donks were having a debate this week. Now I can’t find a transcript.

However, there have been a few comments posted in the blogosphere from the debate, chock full of the usual liberal “spin”. So here’s some of what was said (courtesy of John Hawkins), and what was really meant by it.

Mrs. Clinton, how would you define the word “liberal?”

And would you use this word to describe yourself?

HITLERY: You know, it is a word that originally meant that you were for freedom, that you were for the freedom to achieve, that you were willing to stand against big power and on behalf of the individual.

Unfortunately, in the last 30, 40 years, it has been turned up on its head and it’s been made to seem as though it is a word that describes big government, totally contrary to what its meaning was in the 19th and early 20th century.

I prefer the word “progressive,” which has a real American meaning, going back to the progressive era at the beginning of the 20th century.

I consider myself a modern progressive, someone who believes strongly in individual rights and freedoms, who believes that we are better as a society when we’re working together and when we find ways to help those who may not have all the advantages in life get the tools they need to lead a more productive life for themselves and their family.

So I consider myself a proud modern American progressive, and I think that’s the kind of philosophy and practice that we need to bring back to American politics.

John Edwards: I would challenge every Democrat on this stage today to commit to raising the minimum wage to $9.50 an hour by the year 2012.

TRANSLATION:

I would challenge every Democrat on this stage today to commit to increasing unemployment and the need for socialist programs by raising the minimum wage to $9.50 an hour by the year 2012.

As if any of them would turn down THAT opportunity?!?!?!

Senator Obama, how do we pull out now?

OBAMA: Look, I opposed this war from the start. Because I anticipated that we would be creating the kind of sectarian violence that we’ve seen and that it would distract us from the war on terror.

At this point, I think we can be as careful getting out as we were careless getting in. But we have to send a clear message to the Iraqi government as well as to the surrounding neighbors that there is no military solution to the problems that we face in Iraq.

TRANSLATION:

Look, I opposed this war from the start. Because I anticipated that we would be creating the kind of sectarian violence that we’ve seen decline and that it would enhance our success in the war on terror. Any military success for America is bad for America.

At this point, I think we can be as foolish getting out as we were successful getting in. We just don’t handle these things well.

The simple fact is that the Donks could have never dreamed of the successes that were achieved in Iraq militarily – never mind the decline in terrorist activity at home that accompanied them. Of course, Osama Obama would rather succumb to terrorists at home than fight them abroad. Great strategy – NOT.

I think he just made an admission against self-interest. I don’t know that he is mentally qualified to own that gun. I’m being serious. Look, just like me, we go around talking about people who own guns. I am the guy who originally wrote the assault weapons ban, that became law, and then we got defeated and then Dianne Feinstein went to town on it and did a great job.

TRANSLATION:

This guy owns a gun. Therefore, he is crazy. I don’t know that he is mentally qualified to own that gun. I’m being serious. Look, just like me, we go around talking about people who own guns. I am the guy who originally wrote the assault weapons ban, that became law, and then we got defeated and then Dianne Feinstein went to town on it and did a great job.

Look, we should be working with law enforcement, right now, to make sure that we protect protect the government against people who know what to do with a gun and might use one to protect their freedoms against those of us who are all about controlling them.

Mr. Biden, YOU are crazy. YOU are the evil one who should not be trusted. You say you want to take guns away from people, while in the same statement, you brag about your own criminal record writing laws that violate the Second Amendment.

And how about Obama’s prevarication about not being able to get a cab in New York City because he’s black. If I were a cab driver, I’d pass him up just because he’s nutty as a fruitcake.

If this is the best the Donks can do, they’re going to need Hitlery’s ballot box stuffing techniques to even come close!

Oh Boy …

Found this in the newspaper this morning:

DID YOU KNOW?* Vehicles that idle 10 minutes per day waste more than 29 gallons of fuel each year

* 10 seconds of idling uses more fuel than turning the engine on and off

* An idling vehicle emits 20 times more pollution than one traveling at 30 miles per hour

* Idling for more than three minutes is AGAINST THE LAW!

Excuse me while I take a minute to puke…

OK. Back now.

First of all, I will tell you that this flyer was paid for with taxpayer money. That should tell you something … as in the government is explaining to us all how it is intruding into our lives.

Next, let’s do some math. You’d think their 29 gallons a year statistic would be a huge deal, but idling your car 10 minutes a day, by THEIR estimate, works out to less than .08 gallons per 10 minutes each day. That’s less than 8/100 of a gallon of gas so that you can get into a warm car or a cool one. At the current $2.75 per gallon, it comes to less than a quarter. That doesn’t mean I’m going to go out and start my car 10 minutes early now. I’m just too damned lazy for that. On the other hand, these people aren’t making a very good case against letting your car run for a bit while you fire up the air conditioner or run into the store for bread and milk.

And if idling 10 minutes only burns 22 cents worth of gas, why bother quoting a statistic involving 10 seconds of idling? If the state is so damned worried about my car idling for more than 10 seconds, they should have taken the money they spent on this stupid ad and invested it into some sensors for more of the traffic lights in the area. That’s where my car does most of its idling – and usually for minutes at a time while I wait for no one coming the other way.

Idling cars emit 20 times more pollution than cars traveling at 30 mph? Yeah, ok. I’d love to see how they got THAT idiotic excuse for a statistic. How would they explain that a car traveling at 30 mph burns about 20 times more fuel per hour than one idling, while simultaneously producing 20 times less pollution?

Honestly, I don’t give a flying fuck if idling my car for more than three minutes is against the law. That would be a bogus law anyway. What are they going to do, have some DEP beaureaucrat stand behind my car with a stopwatch and time it? These fucking idiots can’t figure out a way to get Essex County to stop smelling like a giant oil refinery, and they are telling us that WE are causing problems just by letting our cars run?

Opus: No Dad?

I grew up a fan of the Bloom County Comic Strip. I wish I had more access and time to its newer incarnation, “Opus”. The thing I really liked about the strip was that it was just downright silly and idiotic at times (“Real cats don’t eat lasagne.”), and Bill the Cat was the perfect antidote to a world obsessed with that annoying cartoon cat Garfield, the mere thought of whom still makes my skin crawl.

It seems this week Berkeley Breathed touched a nerve when he published this strip featuring Opus and a couple of kids. Feminazis gloated. The anti-male-bashing crowd bitched. I might have as well, except for one thing: I read the strip. I have a completely different opinion, one a bit closer to Kathleen Parker’s position in her column today. You see, Breathed did more than put up just one more overexaggeration of the dark side we all have (both male and female). He called attention to the foolishness of those who depict men (and fathers in particular) so consistently in a negative light. He expertly implemented Rush Limbaugh’s technique of “demonstrating absurdity by being absurd”, and aroused thoughts and emotions in people. Never mind what those thoughts and emotions were – everyone is going to react differently, and a cartoonist knows that – he forced Americans to THINK for a minute.

Some got the message, others didn’t. Some simply applied whatever ideology was most convenient for them, as always happens. Ultimately, and hopefully, the end result of this cartoon will be renewed debate on the merits of fatherhood. Hmm … hold on a minute while I go hug my daughter …

You know, my girls give the best “Daddy’s Girl” hugs you would ever imagine …

The merits of fatherhood, and more importantly, the fact that a bad father is more often than not better than no father at all (as long as we’re not talking abuse). In many ways, that’s my point about this week’s edition of “Opus”. Still, I think Ms. Parker said it best.

Two mommies may work out fine for some children. And some men, just like some women, are contemptible slobs or worse. But neither observation diminishes the larger truth that children need fathers, most of whom are not, in fact, the cartoonish characters we love to loathe.Breathed’s comic strip, intended or not, revealed where we have arrived as a society in our attitudes toward male role models, otherwise known as fathers: Two lesbian mommies are cool, while dad is a violent, profane, impulsive, substance-abusing slob. In such a world, we can be grateful for an existential penguin whose voice offers a counterweight to the know-nothingness of children.

Opus Penguin asked the appropriate question: “No dad?”

No dad? I couldn’t imagine.

Answers for Ol’ BC

Ol’ BC first came to the RWRepublic in its infancy. Since then, he is without question the most loyal reader I have. Last night, he posted some interesting questions in the wake of the incredible waste of time that passed for a debate. There were, of course, largely obvious answers to all of them, so I figured, Why not …

Do the Democrats who are running REALLY think they represent the views of a majority of Americans?

Yup. They think Americans are stupid socialist idiots who not only believe that they have no clue whatsoever how to run their own lives, but that they need a Barack the Schlock or a Hitlery to run it for them. They really believe that the backlash against President Bush is because he’s a Republican and not because he’s nearly as liberal as they are. Why else would they be promising all this stuff that no one really needs or wants?

If the U.S. pulls out of Iraq, do some of these candidates REALLY think the Islamic terrorists are just going to terrorize one another and leave the non-Muslims alone?

Worse. They think the terrorists will cease to be terrorists and live quiet, happy lives sitting around campfires singing “Kum Ba Ya”. They think that only Americans are capable of greed and selfishness and that making everyone’s situation the same (poverty by force if necessary) will lead to peace. They think that they are the only people who are capable of making anyone happy, and that even the terrorists will “see the light” if only we just appease them (Neville Chamberlain was unfortunately unavailable for comment).

How are the deaths of those in the Darfur region different than the hundreds of thousands of deaths of Arabs and Kurds under Saddam Hussein?

In one very important, but nonetheless rather irrelevant way. What’s going on in Darfur is actually a bona-fide Civil War, unlike anything we’ve seen in Iraq.

Pro-choice versus Pro-life, what’s with the exceptions? If I was born in 1955 or 1975 as the result of a pregnancy by rape or incest or if my mother died during childbirth, am I less of a person than the majority of the other people? If not, why the exceptions? Is a fetus a life or not at conception? At one month? At two months? Are most pro-lifers only part time?

Every American grapples with this issue, whether pro-life or pro-child murder. No child is any less a person just because he/she is still in the womb. The reason we make exceptions has to do with violation of the rights of the mother. It’s very difficult to reconcile this. If it is clear that the mother is going to die from carrying the baby to term (an EXTREMELY RARE situation), then her God-given right to life is threatened, and we have a responsibility to protect it. How do we also protect the baby’s similar God-given right? At this time, we are in the unfortunate position of not having any idea. In the interests of preserving her family unit, and with the understanding that one of these very important people (the mother or the baby) is going to die, we make a choice as to whom we save. In choosing to save the mother, we preserve her ability to bring more children into the world in the future, and we save her family from the emotional and economic disaster that might have followed. Nonetheless, we grieve the loss of the child.

As to rape and incest, we make these allowances as a peace offering to the pro-murder crowd. Of course, it’s gotten us nowhere. The Constitution Party states that we shouldn’t be punishing the child for the sins of his/her father, but if a woman has not consented to the act, then should she be considered to have consented to the pregnancy? Conversely, doesn’t it solidify the pro-life position if the position is taken that by consenting to an act that is known to have pregnancy as a consequence, one has consented to the resulting pregnancy?? After all, that is precisely the position taken by those who advocate a woman killing her baby and simultaneously advocate forcing a father to finance a child’s life against his will should the mother choose life.

What happened to the specific powers granted to the federal government in the constitution? I missed the entire education and healthcare section. There has been a lot of talk about heaping on more and very little about rescinding any. What about all others being reserved for the states? Eerie silence.

Those specific powers are still there, along with a slew of others that have been added illegally by those elected to office with the consent of their constituents. This question is truly what the New Federalism seeks to address. America needs a wake-up call.

Do that many of the candidates REALLY think that if they grant amnesty to illegal aliens already in this country no more are going to sneak in?

Nope. They know all too well what will happen – and it’s exactly what they want. Face it, with all of their support of killing off babies that could have been voting for liberal candidates, they’re running out of people to vote for them. It’s happening a lot faster than they anticipated. Liberals need a new constituency, and if they can import one, all the better for them. Do you really think they are fighting this hard so that these people can vote for conservatives??? If these people seriously cared about bringing more people into the prosperity that is America, they’d be falling all over themselves trying to get large numbers of Israelis to move here so that the terrorists could have the land they want. Why isn’t THAT happening??

It’s not happening because Israelis generally would be voting in favor of fighting off terrorists, lowering taxes, and bringing government back to within its legal limits. They are largely well-educated and well-off. Those they are trying to get your heart to bleed over are largely neither. They’re not looking for people who will be independent. They are looking for people who will need liberals for their well-being.

Have that many of the candidates forgotten that learning English opened doors to success for millions of Germans, Italians, Israelis and scads of others for years and years?

Nope. The problem is that they don’t want those doors to be opened. They want the doors closed so that they can have their little dependency class and force you and me and the rest of America to pay for it.

Why weren’t signs and information printed in eighteen languages for all those years if it is that critical?

Because it’s not critical at all…

Could it actually hold people back and keep them living at a subsistence level?

That is precisely the point, and it’s exactly why there is a move on to force every language but English on all of us. I’m not saying that English is what makes people successful. What I’m saying is that English, by sheer luck of the draw, has been the language of successful people. To be successful in the world today, you ALMOST HAVE TO surround yourself with English-speaking people. Telling those who would otherwise do this that it’s ok not to ultimately slows their success, which is exactly what the liberals want. People who claim to be the smartest people in the world can’t possibly be stupid enough to ignore these facts.

Do people REALLY think that catering to a Palestinian state, whose sole mission in life is the eradication of Israel, is going to lead to peace in the region?

Nope. If they did, they’d be inviting scores of successful Israelis to naturalize as Americans. The real problem is that they are more ideologically inclined with the Islamofascist philosophy espoused by the terrorists than they are with the more liberty-minded philosophy of the Israelis.

How about if that Palestinian state is on land that was previously Israel and is presently adjacent to Israel?

All the more reason to eradicate it, in their opinion. These people value freedom, but only for themselves. Everyone else, including you and I, is expected to take orders from them, Constitution be damned.

Maybe I’ve been listening to Sage a little too much, but I doubt it. Just because I have this cynical outlook on liberals doesn’t mean I’m not an optimist. America’s brightest days are ahead; I’m convinced of that. Still, we must overcome these very dark times when many among us would surrender our constitutional rights and succumb to a socialist regime just because they’re too lazy or ignorant to stand up and fight.

While studying tonight, I took frequent breaks and followed John Hawkins’s LiveBlog of tonight’s Republican Debate.

What made it most fun was reading the LiveBlog without watching the debate. So John would comment on something someone said without quoting him, and I’d just be reading what he had to say about it. Hilarious!

Well come on. Any Republican debates going on now are a total waste of time and energy for the candidates and for us. Same for the Donks. What does anyone really expect to accomplish NOW? The likely primary winner on the Republican side hasn’t even joined the race, Giuliani and McCain are RINOs, Hunter and Gilmore are nobodies, so are Tommy, Sam, and Huck, and Tanc and Paul are Libertarian nutjobs who will get elected MAYBE if all the liberals in the Democrat and Republican Parties can be killed off in time for the primaries.

It’s all a big joke. We have a war on in this party. Rush is absolutely right about that. We federalist conservatives MUST win it, and BEFORE the primaries, so that there is a true winner standing for the principles of freedom and federalism that have made America great on the ticket to beat Hitlery and Barack the Schlock. This is MUCH more important than these silly irrelevant debates.

The Revolution has begun, and it WILL be televised.

It will be hard work, but saving America from those who would turn it over to the government will be well worth the effort.

Why is it that a foreign-born American has more of a clue than many of those born here? Too many people take this country for granted.

Hokey Madness

The massacre at VA Tech has my traffic running high for today, and I haven’t even posted about it yet. John Hawkins has said it quite well in his post on the matter today:

The calls for gun control are already coming in hot and heavy after the massacre at Va. Tech yesterday, but isn’t what happened there proof positive that gun control doesn’t work? After all, we just had the biggest gun massacre at a school in American history at a university where it is illegal to carry guns.

Well, duh. Take away the citizen’s final line of defense, and this is EXACTLY what you get. I will repeat the key question here: Isn’t what happened there proof positive that gun control doesn’t work?

My answer is this: While it is true enough that gun control laws do not bring any kind of violence under control, the question of whether these laws work is completely irrelevant. The Second Amendment says:

A well regulated Militia being necessary to the security of a free State, the right OF THE PEOPLE to keep and bear Arms shall not be infringed. – (my emphasis, of course)

If the right of the people to keep and bear arms cannot be infringed, what the fuck difference does it make whether a law that does just that “works”? These laws are illegal and, as such, require the punishment of those creating and bringing them into law.

Of course, given the liberal nutjobs running the shows, don’t expect it to happen any day soon.

It’s often been said: Opinions are like assholes – Everyone’s got one, and they all stink.  Never mind what Ann said or who was offended.  She has the right to say it.  If you don’t like it, you can say whatever you want about it.

What gets me is all these people demanding that conservatives speak out against her.  Of course, you won’t hear anyone over at Koz or DU speaking out against those posting on their sites saying things that are much worse.

Bottom line.  I’ll exercise my First Amendment rights as I please, and everyone else, conservative and liberal alike, can feel free to do the same. I won’t be calling for anyone’s apology or demanding they be spoken out against. Don’t like it??  Go whine to the UN.

It’s time to take on Fox The Democratic Party of Nevada just announced plans to team up with Fox News for a presidential primary debate. But Fox isn’t a legitimate news channel. It’s a right-wing mouthpiece like Rush Limbaugh and the Drudge Report—repeating false Republican talking points to smear Democrats. Sign this petition to ask the Democratic Party of Nevada to drop Fox from the debate.

Hmmm … Ain’t that the nutties freaking thing you everf heard of?? Fair and balanced Fox is a right-wing mouthpiece repeating false Republican talking points to smear Democrats. What a joke!

As if false talking points are even necessary to smear the Donks! If you wanna smear the Donks, just tell the damned TRUTH about them!

Isn’t it convenient that these people advocate free speech for everyone in America except those who disagree with them?

Oh, and what about the left-wing mouthpieces known as ABC, CBS, NBC, MSNBC, and CNN. Even if Fox were a “right-wing mouthpiece”, I’d say we’re outnumbered by about 5 to 1 on TV. Are they asking for their news outlets to be dropped from the debate? Idiots.

Save NPR and PBS once and for all President Bush just proposed drastic cuts to NPR and PBS. We’ve stopped similar cuts in the past, but enough is enough: With the new Congress, we can make sure this never happens again. Sign this petition to Congress.

Whatever. Socialist loonies will do whatever they can to take people’s money and spend it on their stupid little unconstitutional projects like NPR and PBS. My question is this: Exactly why can’t these “networks” simply compete in the free market like all the others? I can’t seem to remember.

Frankenstein Makes It Official – He’s a Socialist Loony!

Last year, I predicted that Al Frankenstein would be running for Senate in Minnesota. It was too easy. Any moron could have seen it. Al simply took a page from Hitlery’s book and moved to a state where he figured he was popular enough to win. Since there was really no place that could boast that kind of looniness, he simply went back to the state he grew up in. Any idiot could have figured that one out.

A couple of weeks ago, it was reported that this is exactly what was going on – a year after I predicted it. What I couldn’t have predicted was this guy’s willingness to pull a Mondale and announce to all of the voters in Minnesota just what a fucking crazy socicalist nutcase he is at the getgo. You’d think just maybe he might have learned the only way a liberal can win is to do what Bill Clinton did – lie. Say you’re not liberal. Say you’re not a socialist shitbag with an agenda. Smile into the camera when you’re supposed to be happy about what you’re saying, and by all means cry if that’s what you think the voters want to see. Clinton was the greatest master of this I have ever seen. There are many people who still believe every lie he ever told. They’re everywhere, especially in the “Blue” parts of the country.

So check out this shit. Here’s how Frankenstein announced his candidacy:

Hi, I’m Al Franken. I’m running for the United States Senate here in Minnesota.

I’d like to talk to you about why I’m running.

I’m not a typical politician. I’ve spent my career as a comedian. Minnesotans have a right to be skeptical about whether I’m ready for this challenge, and to wonder how seriously I would take the responsibility that I’m asking you to give me.

I want you to know: nothing means more to me than making government work better for the working families of this state, and over the next twenty months I look forward to proving to you that I take these issues seriously.

Dude. No one ever took you seriously, even as a comedian. Frankly, running for Senate is the funniest thing you’ve done in your public life. For once, I’m actually LAUGHING.

Today, however, I want to take a few moments to explain to you why I take these issues personally.

My family moved to Albert Lea from New Jersey when I was four years old. My dad never graduated high school and never had a career as such, but my mom’s father, my grandpa, owned a quilting factory out East and gave my dad a chance to start up a new factory in Albert Lea. After about two years, the factory failed, and we moved up to the Twin Cities.

What a nice way to start out a commie story of woe.

Years later, I asked my dad, “Why Albert Lea?” And he said, “Well, your grandfather wanted to open a factory in the Midwest, and the railroad went through Albert Lea.”

So, I asked him, “Why did the factory fail?”

And he said, “Well, it went through Albert Lea, but it wouldn’t stop.”

That was my dad – great guy, terrible businessman. He got a job as a printing salesman, and my mom worked as a real estate agent. The four of us – I have an older brother, Owen – lived in a two-bedroom, one-bath house in St. Louis Park.

Great guy, maybe. Terrible businessman, sure. But I’ll tell you one thing. Even that lame-ass excuse for a joke is better than anything Al’s come up with in years. Maybe Old Man Frankenstein should have tried his hand at comedy …

Just a thought …

That was my childhood. I grew up in a hard-working middle class family just like many of yours. And as a middle-class kid growing up in Minnesota back then, I felt like the luckiest kid in the world. And I was.

And here, my good friends, is the essence of liberal thought. You have what you have and live how you live because of the LUCK you have, not because of anything special you or your parents may have actually DONE. It’s life’s lottery. And by being born, you have been FORCED to buy a ticket.

My wife, Franni, whom I met our freshman year of college, wasn’t quite as lucky. When she was seventeen months old, her dad – a decorated veteran of World War II – died in a car accident, leaving her mother, my mother-in-law, widowed with five kids.

My mother-in-law worked in the produce department of a grocery store, but that family made it because of Social Security survivor benefits. Sometimes there wasn’t enough food on the table, sometimes they turned off the heat in the winter – this was in Portland, Maine, almost as cold as Minnesota – but they made it. (my emphasis)

That family made it BECAUSE of Socialist Security? Hmm … Does this fuckwad actually expect me to believe that his mother-in-law was actually the FIRST woman to ever be widowed in America with five kids? Am I supposed to believe that no pre-socialist era woman ever succeeded in raising a family of that size without a handy-dandy husband around to provide for her?

Al, get off the fucking pity party, ok? You’re making me want to barf all over my keyboard. Let’s face it. Men died all the time in the eighteenth century. Many left behind even bigger families than the one you’re talking about. Most of them made out just fine without these socialist programs. Don’t you think Washington, Jefferson, Madison, Adams, et. al., took people like this into consideration when they wrote the Constitution? Don’t you think that if they had seen any merit to the idea of socialism, they’d have expressly included it in the Constitution? Have you even stopped to think about this instead of letting these shitheads into your thought processes and then turning around and regurgitating their sob stories in the hopes of advancing a bullshit agenda? You are full of it, Al, and you can expect you to have your ass handed to you in the election, if not in the primary.

My mother-in-law and every single one of those five kids became a productive member of society. Conservatives like to say that people need to pull themselves up by their bootstraps – and that’s a great idea. But first, you’ve got to have the boots. And the government gave my wife’s family the boots.

You don’t need boots to rake leaves. You don’t even need boots to join the Coast Guard. You want boots? Get out and earn them. You don’t need the government for that. Do you really think people are that helpless and stupid, Al?

That’s what progressives like me believe the government is there for. To provide security for middle-class families like the one I grew up in, and opportunity for working poor families like the one Franni grew up in.

And herein lies the folly of your entire premise. You believe that the government’s purpose (what it’s there for) is to provide (financial) security and (financial) opportunity. Of course, these provisions are only available to “middle-class” and “working poor” families. Everyone else gets to foot the bill.

Mr. Frankenstein, based on your words, I would suppose you haven’t taken the time to read the Declaration of Independence, but let me take a moment to enlighten you as to the philosophy that drives AMERICAN government’s purpose (what it’s there for)

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed … (my emphasis)

So, idiot, we are all equal in our creation, so you can’t treat one person or group of people any differently than you do any other, and that the purpose of government isn’t to provide ANYTHING, but rather to secure the unalienable rights. Get it? NO Socialist security, NO Pell grants, NO free boots. Oh, and the Constitution was written as it was to support this very philosophy, so don’t get started with this crap that the Declaration isn’t what we go by. The Constitution and the Declaration go hand in hand, and if you don’t know that and accept that, you are unfit for office, which we already know you are. If the voters allow you a seat in the Senate, they deserve the fate that accompanies such an un-American deed.

Last year I traveled all over the state of Minnesota … and maybe a few too many Dairy Queens along the way. But most importantly, I talked to Minnesotans and listened.

They told me that they’re sick of politics as usual-and they’re sick of the usual politicians.

So you come on and give them the same socialist politics-as-usual. Start writing your concession speech, Al.

And I’ll tell you what else they told me. It’s different now than it was for me and Franni. When Franni’s sisters were using them to go to college, Pell Grants paid for 90% of a college education. Today, they pay for 40%. And President Bush, with the help of his Republican allies in Congress, have even tried to privatize Social Security. You should have heard Franni when they tried to do that.

Fuck Franni. Since when does anyone in this country have a right to a college education on someone else’s dime? Given that Pell grants and Socialist Security should have never been public sector ventures, I’d say they would be better off in the private sector if they were to exist at all. At least that way people would be responsible for their own success or failure. Isn’t that what America is all about?

It’s different for middle-class families, too. These families are being squeezed harder and harder every year. Maybe you know what it’s like to be one health crisis away from bankruptcy. Maybe you, or your parents or grandparents, can’t afford prescriptions. Maybe you have kids, and you’re worried about paying for their college. Maybe someone you love is in Iraq, and you don’t know how long they’ll have to stay there, or what will happen when they come home.(my emphasis)

Middle-class families today struggle with that feeling of insecurity-the sense that things can fall apart without notice, outside of your control.

Al, wake up. EVERY family struggles with this, including those who we think have the means not to. I myself happen to be one health crisis away from bankruptcy. Hell, make that ANY finincial crisis, health or otherwise. I have kids (two daughters) and yes, I’m worried about paying for their college (and their weddings, etc.). If I didn’t have this ridiculous tax bill to deal with every year, I just might not have so much to worry about. Are you getting the idea?

Your government should have your back. That should be our mission in Washington, the one FDR gave us during another challenging time: freedom from fear.

FDR can go fuck himself. It’s his socialist bullshit that got us into this mess in the first place. How can the government, rightly called by Thomas Paine “in its best state a necessary evil, in its worst state an intolerable one” be trusted to “have my back”? Fuck that. I’ll cover my own back, thank you. And if you loony leftards would simply respect the Second Amendment, I could do it with my own gun.

President Clinton used to say that there’s nothing wrong with America that can’t be fixed by what’s right with America, or, as I would add, by what’s right with Minnesota.

Well, you know, even a stopped clock is right twice a day. Still, doesn’t this quote sound a bit like something President Reagan might say??? Heck, given what we know about Clinton and the truth, can anyone really trust that he even meant it?

We can lead the fight against global warming and dependence on foreign oil by developing new sources of renewable energy – and create good Minnesota jobs in the process.

If, that is, someone can provide conclusive proof that people are responsible for this so-called “global warming”, which hasn’t even conclusively been proven to be happening, let alone to be caused by humans. Al, look at what you are saying. You are saying that some socialaist program is the way to solve a problem that could much more easily be solved by stuffing a sock into Al Gore’s mouth.

There is also no such thing as “renewable energy”. Once energy is used, it’s used. You can’t get it back or “renew” it. You learn that in high school physics. Maybe you should go back for a refresher course.

We can lead the nation in finding life-saving cures by harnessing the potential of stem-cell research.

Sheesh. I’m not even going to go there. Mr. Minority – care to comment????

We can lead the nation by sending someone to the Senate who’ll be a voice for a strong and responsible America, one that uses its relationship with our allies to create a better and more secure world for ourselves and for future generations.

Well, I’d say the last person to be a voice for a strong and responsible America would be Al Frankenstein, or any Donk for that matter, save one that would go against their party line and dismantle the socialism we’ve had crammed down our throats and resolve to win the War on Terror. What’s all this bullshit about allies anyway?? Wouldn’t a strong America be strong enough to succeed without relying on the support of “allies”?? Doesn’t this get back to the independence concept that I’ve been hammering through this whole post? If we are the most worthy country in the world (which we are), and we’re the most powerful country in the world (which we are), then why the fuck do we need allies? Sure, allies would be nice to have, but if they’re all WRONG, then what good are they? Thank God we do have some allies that are right. I wish we could say the same for everyone who seeks or holds public office.

My political hero is Paul Wellstone.

Enough said.

I’ll be surprised if this shitweasel wins the primary, but he has no chance of winning the election. Even if he gets lucky and does, can you think of anything funnier than this guy taking the Senate floor and spewing this bullshit?
